Arsenal FC is the only football club to have never been relegated from the top division of English football.
Founded in 1886 as Dial Square, the club was originally based in Woolwich, South London but moved north to Highbury in 1913. Arsenal moved to the Emirates Stadium, a purpose built 60,000 capacity ground in 2006 after 93 years at Highbury.
They are one of only five clubs to have won the historic double of FA Cup and League, doing so in 1971 and again in 1998 and 2002.
Following the appointment of Arsene Wenger in 1996, the club embarked upon another period of sustained success winning the league and cup double in his second full year in charge and his "Invincible" team of 2003/04 went unbeaten in a total of 49 league games.
Arsenal also reached the final of the Champions League in 2006, losing to Barcelona.
